Overview

A custom notecard business needed a cohesive image library built specifically for Etsy—clean, consistent, and confidence-boosting—while also keeping the collection flexible enough to support a future Shopify storefront. The goal was to make the notecards feel premium, giftable, and easy to understand in a competitive online marketplace.


The Challenge

Notecards are deceptively tricky to sell online. Buyers want to see the details—paper, print quality, and what’s included—while also feeling the “occasion” behind the product. On Etsy, that means you need both:

  • Clarity (exactly what arrives: cards + envelopes, sizing, quantities)

  • Emotion (the lifestyle story: desk, gifting, stationery moments)

The visuals had to communicate value immediately, without relying on shoppers to read every line of the description.

What made it particularly challenging was that the client is a professional photographer (wildlife and landscape) and has an eye for composition, accuracy, and creativity. Additionally, it took considerable effort to assemble the “right” props for the shoot.

The ImageWerkx Approach

I built a four-part visual system designed around how Etsy shoppers actually browse:

1) Standard product images (the clarity set)

Clean angles, consistent framing, and true-to-life color—showing the notecards and envelopes clearly, with detail close-ups that make quality obvious.

2) Staged lifestyle photography (the real-world set)

Tasteful, on-brand scenes that place the product in context—elevated but not over-styled—so shoppers can instantly imagine ownership or gifting.

3) AI lifestyle images (the variety set)

To expand the lifestyle library efficiently, I also delivered AI-assisted lifestyle scenes that matched the brand’s look and feel. This provided additional variety for marketing use while keeping the product presentation consistent and polished.

4) Infographics (the no-questions-left set)

Etsy-friendly graphic panels that answer the usual buyer questions visually: what’s included (cards + envelopes), sizing, key features, and any quick purchase notes—helping reduce uncertainty and increase buyer confidence.

Throughout the project, I kept communication frequent and transparent so approvals were smooth and the final delivery stayed on schedule.
